I'm a USPTA certified tennis professional, and I play comfortably at a pro level with—an eclectic and unconventional style — the right players. * As a teaching pro ♣ I understand the game very well- with high match IQ). I used to dance ballet as well which helped me a lot to have a smooth and a fluid style, and a great foot work and balance. When it comes to tennis it is all about fitness, agility, stamina, endurance, mental fortitude at the critical moment of the match--- and a great technique to sustain a high level for a long period of time. About my tennis style and teaching- you will learn any style you like that fits your game, using spin and slices as well as being eclectic and /or conventional ... and how to develop a technically sound serve ( the serve in tennis is one of or the most important elements if you like to be very competitive). ♣ Teaching philosophy is-- (based around student and teacher-centered approach): I do not like to talk much during the session( I don't over/or under coach but I give you what you need to be ) Despite-- I emphasize a lot on the technique and repetitions so you can improve in the right way, while having fun. -- and after finishing the lessons, the students will have an idea on what they need to do to become good recreational players, or advanced or professional players, and what their strengths and weaknesses are... from which they will be able to diagnose their own game. ♣ Personal --I'm also multilingual-- graduate student (I have a minor, BA, MA---,(and PhD is my next goal. * I taught tennis in high school as well - private school - and all my students said that I'm the best coach they have ever had . ♣I love fitness, organic food, and my favorite sport is gymnastics which is the only complete sport and most difficult to master. Golfing and student of the game for 50 years now. .My philosophy is keep the swing simple and effective. Swing changes are hard so let’s work with what you have unless you are committed to making wholesale swing changes. Fundamentals are key: grip, alignment, posture and swing plane. No crazy gimmicky exaggerated moves: club on plane w a square face, and aligned to target. Let’s get you proficient and confident so you can get out play and enjoy the game.

"Worked on grip and stance with each club and got a good understanding WHY the stance was important (and different) for each club. I did not want 20 or 30 new things to try. I could not remember that many. I can easily focus on two tips for each club and make improvements based on those tips.

Thirty years as a player with multiple tournament wins on US West coast amateur events. I've played and practiced with professional players. Active tournament player monthly. Former club champion and multiple NCGA winners in 2021. Won NCGA event at Lake Merced, 2017 Troon Challenge, and 4-time qualifier of CourseCo annual event since 2013. Retired Navy and Cal grad. I am a former D1 tennis player and I’m offering my services as a hitting partner as well as a coach. I played D2 as well and my University was ranked 9 in the nation. Won many singles and doubles tournaments throughout my career. Used to be Top 50. I’ve worked as a student athlete at a D1 school as well. Note: most lessons will need to be booked a week out to ensure courts are available I'm a USTA 4.5 tennis player and a 4.0 PPR Certified Coach who has been playing pickleball for 5 years and teaching for the past three years. I've taught students who have never had a paddle in their hands, as well as students at the 3.5/4.0 pickleball level. I love teaching tennis players the differences in the game and the adjustments that need to be made.
