I'm a bilingual English and Spanish tutor with bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Biology from the University of Redlands and a background in healthcare. I personalize every lesson to each student's goals, whether it's conversation, grammar, pronunciation, travel, or professional Spanish. My name is Zefora Ortiz-Gomez. I am a first-generation college graduate. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chicano Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, where I developed a strong commitment to educational equity and student advocacy. My professional experience includes working with foster youth, transfer students, and first-generation college students. As a bilingual professional fluent in both English and Spanish, I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.

I have 14 years of teaching experience in the U.S. Navy as a Damage Controlman, where training and mentoring Sailors is a core responsibility. I teach through a patient, structured, and hands-on approach, adapting to each student’s learning style. I’ve worked with students ranging from brand-new Sailors to senior leaders, helping them master technical skills, emergency procedures, and professional development goals.

Though young, I am a soccer enthusiast fueled by my passion for the sport and my interest in young players like me who share the same passion. From playing and even coaching young players as well, I have acquired a good amount of knowledge with regard to communication, teamwork, hard work, and the ins and outs of soccer (both coaching and playing). I am ready to help coach other young players and help grow in the sport, blending skill development and fun!

I’ve grown with the game so I consider my teaching to be Dynamic, emphasis on footwork, power, human genetics and create a mental preparation of the game of baseball. I’ve coached at every level the youth has to offer, developmental to the nationally elite. I’ve won national championships and CIF high school championships I’ve coached All American Youth Baseball 10u teams 12 East Cost East Bay tour and National Coach of the Year award AABC

I coach players of all ages, skill levels, and positions. My programming is tailored to each athlete's goals, whether that's learning the game from scratch, improving specific skills, or trying to compete at the next level. Along with developing a strong base of fundamentals, I enjoy teaching the mental side of baseball, which was imperative to my career and carries over off the field. My goal is to create a positive and challenging environment that facilitates improvement.
