Since the age of 5, I have explored my fascination with music. Starting with Suzuki piano, I gave a recital in high school and went to Oberlin Conservatory. Continuing on to Peabody and Eastman, I completed my music education and moved on to IT while exploring additional passions in music on the side. I'm now back to music full time, with an emphasis on teaching conservatory-level classical piano and beginning/intermediate violin and latin percussion. I teach at your home or at mine in Danville.

I am a guitarist, performer, and composer who studied at the California Jazz Conservatory with over 18 years experience of playing and teaching. I have worked and studied with renowned musicians such as Jonathan Kreisberg, Liberty Ellman, Romain Pilon, and Mimi Fox. While now primarily a jazz musician, my playing is also influenced by rock legends like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai. I believe that every student learns and grows differently, with their own unique goals. My approach is all about cultivating a safe, fun, and encouraging learning environment where students can develop at their own pace. Hey, I’m Coach Dex — a former college offensive lineman and current varsity football coach who’s passionate about helping athletes reach their potential. I specialize in working with offensive and defensive linemen, focusing on footwork, technique, strength, and football IQ. Whether you’re a youth player just learning the game or a high school athlete trying to level up, I’ll meet you where you’re at and build a plan that fits your goals. I earned a full scholarship to play at the University of Sioux Falls after grinding through junior college at Laney College (as seen on Last Chance U), so I know firsthand how far hard work can take you. I currently coach at Heritage High School and am also working toward my PE teaching credential because coaching and teaching are what I love. Sessions with me are upbeat, detailed, and built around confidence and repetition. If you’re ready to put in work, I’m ready to help you move people against their will.

I am now pursuing a career in coaching to share the knowledge, discipline, and values I gained through years of competitive play.
