Hello everyone! My name is Gustavo, I am a PTR certified tennis coach with over 5 years of coaching experience. I utilize a player-driven model with the aim to create the personal established goal for each athlete/player. I utilize foundational tools to provide a personal program for a player to enhance physique, technique, tacit, mindset, and believe. I strive for excellence in mentorship/coaching, and I look forward to nurturing the player/person you pursue to be.

Armed with a degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Music, I've embarked on a journey that has taken me from classrooms to recording studios. As a recording artist, I've had the privilege of performing extensively both in the United States and abroad. "Oh, I’d say Deanne’s lessons are pretty helpful. I especially appreciated learning about different chords, mainly with the left hand, which felt quite practical. Still, I’m hopeful about progressing with chord movement and melody application, I guess that’s next. Anyway, I can see myself trying another lesson soon.

I have been playing golf for 20 years and have been teaching for 5 years. I Enjoy getting people to learn new skills, especially if it is a skill they are struggling with. My proudest golf achievement has been shooting a 71 at Poppy Hills. My favorite golf course is Torrey Pines. When I am not teaching or playing golf, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and playing the drums.

I've taught tennis at various levels, from beginners with no experience to advanced players, for over two decades. Having played competitively since high school and with the USTA, I reached my highest play level of 4.5. I have also coached girls' and boys' high school tennis teams. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and experience levels, sharing my passion for the game, and helping them improve their skills.

I have been coaching at Youth League Tennis in both Fremont and Livermore for the past 5 years. My focus is on helping players learn the basics like topspin forehand and double backhand to get them started and enjoy the sport. My goal is to spark their interest in playing more and to encourage them to learn the next skills, such as serving and volleying, leading to eventual match play.
