Jillian began her yoga journey in 2013 after the passing of her mother, Donna, from lung cancer. Yoga gave her a way to heal and redirect her grief into something beautiful and strong. Coming from a movement background, she has been dancing since age 11, 17 of those years were spent as a professional contemporary dancer with Dance Kaleidoscope in Indianapolis, Indiana. She emerged as a soloist with the company after a few short years and was named one of Indiana’s most intriguing artists in the early 2010’s. She has been teaching ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and contemporary dance since the age of 18 and is currently a full time teacher with Central Indiana Academy of Dance in Carmel. In 2012, she became certified as an aerial yoga instructor through Mindful Movement Studio, where she then taught for more than seven years. Jillian has been a strong practitioner of vinyasa yoga for the past two years and was finally able to receive her 200 hr RYT certification through the Yoga and Ayurveda Studio in Pennsylvania during the global pandemic in 2020, an online program. Including Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Chair, and Ayurveda Specialist, her mission with teaching is to make yoga available for every body, from beginner to advanced, and for every income level, making yoga more accessible for those that may not have the financial means. Her classes are well thought out, will make you laugh, and will help you regain your sense of self and confidence. She currently teaches at Invoke Studio, North Mass Boulder, Invoke Wellness Center as well as Indy Movement Arts Collective.
"Jill was very supportive of all ability levels. She amazed me by knowing my name and giving me positive reinforcement along with her regular students. Her class was challenging, yet she provided accommodations for any students who may have found some poses too difficult. I hope to try many more classes at invoke, but I will definitely make every effort to attend Jill's class on Wednesday evenings. -MINDBODY FitGrid feedback

I've swam all my life, growing up in Hawaii I needed to swim in order to surf. At age 9, I began competitve club swimming and didn't look back, competing at a high level, traveling to the mainland US to represent Hawaii in various regional meets (Zones and Sectionals). I specialize in butterfly and breastroke. I continued my swimming career for 4 more years in college at Franklin College in Indiana, where I broke multiple school records, currently holding the 100 and 200 butterfly, 200 breastroke, and 400 Individual medley. I have some experience coaching beginner level swimmers but my true passion would be to help improve high potential young swimmers (10-16) that want to reach the next level. I value technique and underwaters; working smarter in the water can lead to huge time gains. In longer races, efficiency plays a bigger factor than raw strength or talent and I want to help swimmers achieve that. Another asset I can bring to swimmers is a competitive/winners mentality. I have known a lot of swimmers in my experience who were more talented or hardworking than me, but didn't have the mental strength or confidence to push themselves to peak performance on race day. I can talk athletes through the mental part of their races, which I think plays a more significant factor than most realize.
