My name is Rodrigo Torrellio, and I’m originally from Bolivia. I’m currently based in the Boston area, where I’m a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Boston College. I teach Spanish while pursuing my graduate degree in Hispanic Literatures, combining my passion for education, culture, and sport. Soccer has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began my playing career with Club Blooming’s U16 professional youth academy in Bolivia before continuing in the United States. I played at Southwestern Oregon Community College, where I was team captain, earned All-Conference honors, and was named Defensive MVP. After that, I played NCAA Division II soccer at Roberts Wesleyan University, and during the summers, I competed in both the USL2 and UPSL. After three seasons as a student-athlete, I transferred to the University of Oregon, where I completed my B.A. in Humanities with a concentration in Legal Studies and graduated from the Clark Honors College. While finishing my degree, I coached full-time as a head coach for local competitive youth teams and played for the university’s club soccer team. Since then, I’ve continued to grow as a coach, working with players across multiple levels and age groups. I’ve served as head coach for U13 boys and U9 girls competitive teams, as an assistant coach for ECNL-level programs, and as a volunteer assistant coach with the Lane Community College Men’s Soccer Team. I currently hold a U.S. Soccer D License. I’m fluent in Spanish, French, and English, and I bring a multicultural, player-centered approach to every team I work with. My goal as a coach is to help players develop not only their technical and tactical understanding of the game but also their confidence, leadership, and love for soccer.

For over 18 years, I've fostered a love for soccer in players of all levels, including high school, cub, academy, colege, and semi professional. Attackman Specialist driven by a lifelong passion for lacrosse, both as a player and coach, I've spent the last 28 years fostering growth and skill in aspiring athletes. My coaching style emphasizes dedication to both individual player development and strategic team play within a fun, supportive and engaging environment. "Before his game, my son Tyler was tossing the ball around with teammates but he always hitting the ground or missing. Because I never played, I didn’t know how to help him so I was lost. Then, this nice man wearing a Weymouth Lacrosse fleece came up to me, introduced himself as Mike and asked if he could help my son. I said sure. Mike went over to Tyler and asked him to shoot the ball at the net. After 2 or 3 shots hitting the ground or missing, Mike grabbed his stick. After untying some strings he gave it back to Tyler. Tyler’s shots/passes were now on target. I asked Mike what he did, he said he “fixed the whip.” For the next 15 mins or so Mike was working on Tyler’s throwing catching & cradling. Tyler, who wanted to quit lacrosse because his stick “didn’t work” now gets excited for games. Spoiler, Mike was the opposing teams coach but that didn’t matter. He saw a player who needed help and he helped him. Thank Mike!

With 14 years of lacrosse experience and a career at a top 10 Division II program, I bring high-level playing knowledge, proven training techniques. As a recent graduate, I’ve competed in the national tournament every year of my college career, learning from elite coaches and refining the skills that make great players. Now, I’m dedicated to helping the next generation of lacrosse athletes develop their game—whether it’s stick skills, IQ, shooting, defense, or conditioning.
