I run six pickleball sessions a week for my local church to raise money, combining my love for the game with a commitment to community service. My journey with paddle sports began as a kid, but it was in 2015, introduced to pickleball by my dad, that I truly found my passion. I fell in love with the game not only for its excitement but also for the positive social aspects it brings. Pickleball has a unique way of building connections and fostering a supportive community, and I strive to share that experience with others. Whether you're a newcomer or looking to improve your skills, I'm here to help you enjoy the game and be part of the amazing pickleball community.
"Had a great time learning from Matthew! He was super patient and even let me practice with the ball machine. He is super nice and kept the lesson fun. He also runs open play sessions with his church which I went to and was great to practice the things I learned.

Hi, I’m Coach James Kemp—a recent NCAA Division I baseball player and team captain at Iona University. I’m coming off my final collegiate season where I broke the Iona all-time RBI record, finishing my career as one of the most productive hitters in program history. Career Highlights: • Iona University All-Time RBI Record Holder – 2025 • Team Captain – 2024–2025 • All-MAAC First Team – 1st Baseman – 2025 • MAAC Player of the Week – March & May 2025 • MAAC All-Academic Team – 2020–2023 • Dean’s List – Iona University After years of competing at the highest level, I’m excited to pass on the knowledge, discipline, and mindset it takes to perform under pressure. Whether I’m working with young kids learning the basics or teenagers looking to level up, I bring intensity, patience, and structure to every session. My lessons focus on strong fundamentals, confident at-bats, defensive footwork, and real-time feedback. Most importantly, I create a positive, focused environment where players can grow, compete, and enjoy the game. Let’s get to work—I'll bring the experience, you bring the hustle.
"“Thank you guys for coming out! The kids had so much fun as did we!”
