I’m Coach Mel Harris, a professional basketball skill development coach based in NYC. I’m a 94FTOfGame Certified Skills Coach, under the mentorship of 3-Time NBA Champion, Coach Phil Handy. DurtttyWork Inc. is our player development company and platform that we train through, with two other coaches onboard as well. We focus on Skill development and the details wrapped around basketball, whether it’s ball handling, shot mechanics, passing, defense, making the right reads in a offensive or scoring on all 4 levels of the court, DurtttyWork has you covered! We’ve had the opportunity to train on all skill levels from NBA/WNBA down to youth basketball, so our teachings and experience is very wide-ranged and helps us train at the highest level. Everyone learns different, so we do our best to administer actions geared around customizing the session for the client(s). Before making DurtttyWork, I have over 15 years of playing experience. From high-level high school basketball and leading the city in assists to playing at a D2 Junior College, nationally breaking 3pt records in the NJCAA, winning two city championships and second place in the Region 15 Championship. To playing at a D3 NCAA college and breaking more 3pt records there as well. After college, I played Semi-Pro basketball in the ABA, followed by a Pro Exposure Tour in Puerto Rico. After signing my next full contract to play in the Dominican Republic, the Covid-19 pandemic had forced myself to retire early and took the opportunity to create a platform for player development and youth skill development.

It's my passion to unlock the potential I see in every player, from seasoned athletes to those just stepping onto the court. With 23 years of playing experience and 6 years of both training and coaching I've honed a coaching style that's both encouraging and effective. Let's work together to elevate your game.

For over twenty years, I've had the privilege of sharing my passion for basketball with players of all levels. I played collegiately at NYU as the starting point guard my freshman year (and had multiple prior Division I offers). My strengths include exceptional ball handling, strategic attacks to the basket and personal shooting techniques, identifying individual weaknesses and fine tuning each strength to create unstoppable moves. I can dribble three balls at a time and teach many two ball dribbling skills that will heighten your awareness as a player while drastically improving your game. (Want to learn to dribble three balls? We can do that too.) My coaching blends technical expertise with a deep understanding of the game's nuances, fostering both skill and basketball IQ. Louis Mitten is a Brooklyn-based classical guitarist and composer. Born in Tampa, Florida, Louis began playing guitar when he was eight, performing pop and rock songs around the local Tampa Bay area. Louis went to Blake High School to study classical guitar with John Parris performing solo and chamber recitals. He then went to Florida State University to complete his degree in guitar performance with Bruce Holzman and Celso Cano, teaching, performing and studying guitar pedagogy. Louis is now located in Brooklyn, performing and teaching throughout New York City and competing internationally in classical guitar competitions.

Fifteen years ago, I picked up a blues guitar at a local shop in Metro Detroit—and haven't stopped playing since. In 2018, I enrolled at the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance to study guitar and music production, building a strong foundation in both performance and creative technology. Over the past two years, I’ve worked at the intersection of music, media, and brand experience—interning at Relix Magazine and managing the New York City showroom for D’Angelico Guitars, where I supported artists and strengthened community relationships. Today, I split my time between performing and producing. I play guitar in Dallas Wax, release electronic music as WINSKI, and continue to write, record, and perform across the U.S.
