Hi, My name is Miss Blakeney. I am a retired elementary school teacher with 33+ years of experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and I hold a masters degree in elementary education. I am also certified in the state of North Carolina to teach K-6. I have tutored students in person and online. I am versatile in technology. I love teaching and watching students progress in their learning.

I view the court as a classroom; for 20 years I have taught basketball to players of all levels, blending technical fundamentals, tactical insight and tailored training. I deliver patient, disciplined instruction rooted in competitive experience to build skill, confidence and passion for the game. Hoop Season proudly operates in both Colorado and North Caroline . Our staff consists of highly trained coaches who have been personally developed and mentored by me over the past 10+years.

Norm started drumming in his early teens and study music performance and education in college. Shortly after he toured around the US in Canada for 3 1/2 years. At age 23 he played full-time at Disney’s pleasure Island in Orlando, where he resided for 29 years. This is also when he started private instruction. I have my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I am a licensed teacher in NY, NJ, NC, SC, and FL. It is my life’s purpose & passion to work with children and alongside parents, as we partner in equipping all children toward success personally, academically and socially.

I am a National Board Certified teacher and reading specialist with over 22 years of experience helping students become confident readers and writers. I provide personalized instruction in reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and literacy intervention for students with diverse learning needs. My goal is to build skills, confidence, and a love of learning through engaging, research-based instruction tailored to each student's strengths and needs.
