With over 14 years dedicated to basketball instruction, I cultivate skill and sportsmanship. My coaching philosophy blends fundamental mastery with strategic thinking. Also I have been around all levels of basketball from middle school to all the way to nba and wnba so not only will you get my knowledge but also all the knowledge I have received from them.

I'm Coach Jonathan Barfield, currently serving as the Varsity Head Coach at St. Paul Christian Academy. With a robust background in basketball, I've coached at various levels, including as the 7th and 8th-grade junior varsity coach at Saint Bernard Academy. My playing career includes stints at Lambuth University and Memphis East High, and I've also competed internationally with EuroBasket Team London in 2020. A graduate of Tennessee State University with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees, I'm passionate about basketball skills development, currently training athletes at St. Paul Christian Academy and through my role with Pro Skills AAU Basketball. I've had a racquet in my hand since I was 5 and lived in Nashville since 1993, having grown up in Cnooga. I've won the Hillwood Country Club championship 4 of the last 6 years and picked up a passion for pickleball in 2020. I play at a competitive DUPR 4.3 level, bringing 40 years of tennis and 4 years of pickleball to the equation. I got PPR certified in 2022 and in October 2022 opened the Court at West Meade where myself and 3 of our other pros teach. In 2024, I taught over 500 people how to play pickleball with the Pickleball 101 group clinics we run. I teach private lesson weekdays at 9:00
