My name is Vernon Joines Jr. I was a 3 sport athlete in high school (football, basketball and track & field). After high school I went the prep school route and attended Hargrave Military Academy from 2008-2009. From there I finished my career on the D2 level at Bowie State University where I earned my degree in Sports Management with a minor in Management.

For sixteen years, I've been driven by a singular passion: to share my love of football and help athletes reach their full potential. My coaching philosophy emphasizes strategic thinking, disciplined practice, and fostering a supportive team environment where players can thrive.

I teach voice, piano, and guitar in person at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Mechanicsville or online via Zoom. Each student will receive instruction tailored toward their skill level, age, and what they want to get out of it. For over 25 years, I've been immersed in the world of tennis. On top of that, my love for table tennis has kept me engaged for nearly four decades, and I'm still at it. A few years ago, I embraced a new challenge: pickleball. I've since competed in various tournaments in Virginia, both in singles and mixed doubles categories. Just in 2023, I proudly clinched 5 medals – 2 in singles and 3 in mixed doubles. Beyond the thrill of the game, I have a passion for teaching and connecting with new people. Sharing my knowledge and experiences with others is what keeps me going.

I’ve played softball for 14 years as a pitcher and utility athlete, earning multiple regional and state honors in high school. I have six years of coaching experience and created my own summer softball camps. I also worked as a Division I team manager at Coastal Carolina, supporting practices and stats. I’m passionate about building players’ confidence and creating a positive team environment.
