Hello! My name is Bitanya Mekuria, I’m a math major at Bellevue College , transferring to University of Washington. I have 5+ years of tutoring experience from helping family and neighbors to working at Renton Technical College and Bellevue College. I work with students of all ages in algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, calculus, intro to Statistics and linear algebra. I am a Mathematics student at the University of Washington with over four years of tutoring experience in math, science, English, and SAT preparation. As a College Board SAT Math tutor, I created personalized study plans and helped students improve their scores. My teaching style is interactive and discussion-based: students explain their reasoning, predict next steps, and build problem-solving intuition. I have worked with middle school, high school, and adult learners.

I've been working with students to improve their Mathematics skills for the better part of a decade. This includes young children in elementary school, adults in middle age trying to go back to school, and everything in between. I believe the key to effective tutoring is patience and understanding of the student's needs. Mastery of the subject matter is important, but adapting to a student's learning style is also paramount.
