Hello my name is Allen and I am a local Milwaukee tennis coach with over 40 years of playing experience and over 11 years of teaching experience! After I retired as a Senior Graphic Designer in 2009, I turned my attention to another life-long passion, tennis! Since then, I have earned three gold as well as five silver medals in tennis while participating in the Senior Olympics. I have also been a boys and girls tennis coach at Brookfield Central High School since 2013 and served as the head tennis coach for Mount Mary University located in Milwaukee (NCAA Division 3) in 2016. I am currently employed as a tennis instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Tennis is great fun! It’s a lifetime sport that brings many rich benefits. Learning to play tennis well brings a sense of fulfillment and self-confidence. I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I’m a PPR Certified Instructor at the Professional Level, competing at a 4.0+ level and coaching players of all backgrounds, including beginners, intermediates, wheelchair athletes, and both social and competitive players. I specialize in crafting drills from beginner to advanced, and I’m experienced in tournament preparation. Prior to my coaching career, I was a retired college professor, and I bring a disciplined, educational approach to the court.

Around 5 years ago I was a freshman playing on my high school's JV2 team. Fast forward 2 years and I was starting virtually every game on Varsity. And I didn't just "get good". I spent countless hours training, figuring out what worked. Now, I'm bringing that experience in my coaching. For the past 2 years I've worked with 5-year-olds who were complete beginners up to more experienced players at the middle and high school level, helping them achieve their goals while having fun. :)

Born and raised in Costa Rica in a family of professional players, I built my soccer foundation early and competed from youth through semi‑pro levels with Sagrada Familia, Limón FC, and Saprissa FC. After injuries ended my pro path, I moved into coaching. I’ve spent over 12 years coaching youth soccer for multiple Wisconsin clubs and hold a U.S. Soccer D License, bringing experience and passion to player development.
