Music has been my language for over 40 years. I teach guitarists ranging from beginners to advanced intermediate players. If you’re a guitarist who enjoys singing, I also offer instruction in vocal technique and accompaniment styles. As your coach, I can also be your advocate as you pursue live performance opportunities. Additionally, I teach Beginning Electric Bass and Beginning Piano. As a recording artist, my journey has taught me the nuances of musicianship and performance- from technical mastery to creative expression. Now, I guide aspiring musicians to help them find their unique voice. My teaching method is based on over 30 years as a professional guitarist and bassist with rock, jazz and folk music ensembles. I studied at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in the Jazz Performance Program. While at the conservatory, I also studied Jazz Aural Skills, Music Theory, Composing and Arranging, and Kodaly Musicianship Training. Additionally, I regularly attend continuing music education seminars to keep my skills and my approach to the teaching process fresh. I am a patient teacher who knows how to make music lessons fun. As your teacher, I can help you learn the basics of guitar playing and help you explore the musical styles you enjoy, introducing new songs and coaching you in developing your technique. I teach many beginning guitar students and my approach is to help you develop yourself as a musician on a weekly basis. My studio is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but I have a successful online/virtual studio with students in five different states.
"Jeremy knows his stuff, he has a wide array of books he uses to teach. He also notes your personal interests and suggests further reading and structures lessons around what you find fascinating. 10/10, would recommend.

Hi Lovelies! My name is TJ or Ms.A, as my students call me. I am excited to have you reading this, so read on! First and foremost, I am a Christian, which means I have extensive knowledge in church music, however, my experience does not stop there. I am a self-taught and classically trained musician with 13+ years of experience as a pianist, 12+ years as a singer, 6+ years as vocalist, 5+ years of worship leading, and 6+ years of songwriting and arranging, and 3+ year of music production. My skill-set includes playing piano and guitar, singing, songwriting, and music production. When it comes to genres, I can teach you just about anything from classical music, to pop, to CCM, to hymns, to gospel, and back around again. And if I am not familiar with something and/or comfortable playing something for whatever reason, I will let you know. And I extend the same to you. If you would want to play only church music, as that is what I am basing my curriculum off of, great! If not, let's talk about those song choices. I will only teach you songs that will help build you up as a musician but also a good human being, so no provocative, cursing, unwholesome songs will be taught or encouraged to play. I have to honor God in everything I do, so if that is a problem, let me know. Positive and encouraging is my motto! That being said, I am very passionate about music making, and would not one anyone to be held back for any reason from pursuing their dreams. So whether you wanna take on a new hobby, or become a well-rounded professional musician, I invite you to learn with and alongside me as we explore and build upon one of God's most beautiful gifts bestowed to mankind: music.
