With over two decades on the diamond, I’m now taking my skills and playing experience transitioning into being a full time coach to pass down my knowledge and success to young baseball athletes in getting to the next level I enjoy coaching because I love the game. Teaching and sharing my knowledge, experience, and skills with amazing athletes ready to take their potential to the next level. I hope to not only enable them to succeed on the playing field but in the classroom, and in life beyond baseball as well I blend fundamental skills with tailored strategies for impactful growth. I’m Haydn McGeary, former Chicago Cubs prospect and 2-time NCAA Division II National Player of the Year at Colorado Mesa University. I hold the NCAA DII career home run record with 75 HRs and was drafted by the Cubs in 2022 after leading all of college baseball in home runs. I now offer private baseball lessons focused on hitting, catching, defense, mental approach, and player development for athletes looking to take their game to the next level.
I played collegiate baseball at Francis Marion University (1 year), Prince George’s Community College (2 years), and St. Thomas University (1 year), gaining experience across multiple levels of college baseball. After my playing career, I transitioned into coaching and player development. I have coached with Thunderbirds Baseball Academy and Diamond Sports Academy and completed a pitching internship at Miami Christian High School, where I assisted with pitcher development, bullpen work, arm care routines, and game preparation. My goal as a pitching coach is to develop durable, efficient pitchers by improving mechanics, command, and pitch design while prioritizing long-term arm health. I focus on building consistency, confidence, and preparing pitchers to compete at the next level.
