About Z

I have been passionate about baseball since early childhood. I especially enjoy sharing my love for the game with other players, coaches, parents, and fans. I believe in positive reinforcement through encouragement and instilling confidence. Every player is unique, so I take time to understand each player’s personality, strengths, and overall learning goals. I was born and raised in Houston, TX — a city with many opportunities for competitive youth baseball. I began playing travel ball at age six and soon played on multiple teams year-round. It became more than just a hobby for me; I realized that I wanted to pursue baseball professionally in some capacity. After lettering three years at Bellaire High School in Bellaire, TX, I was recruited to play shortstop for Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. I was one of the few players who made the travel team as a freshman. In my sophomore year, we went on to win the NCAA Division III National Championship. As an upperclassman, I took on a leadership role, honing my skills as both a player and a teacher of the game. Coaches and teammates labeled me as a cerebral player, and coaches trusted me to assist them with game strategy, player management, instructional work, and recruiting. After graduating with a B.S. in Geoscience (‘18), I earned a Masters degree in Geology at UC Davis (‘20). I currently work as an environmental geologist at a consulting firm, where I manage environmental cleanups, investigations, and property assessments. My passion for baseball remains unchanged. I continue to play competitively in a men’s league on the weekends. Baseball has shaped me into who I am as a person and a professional. I hope to use my experience to help players pursue their dreams. Whether you want to play competitively or just want to have fun, sign up for lessons and we can enjoy the game together! About Bryan

I’m Bryan Perez, a former professional pitcher who made it to Low-A with the Houston Astros. Baseball taught me that success isn’t just about velocity—it’s about confidence, mindset, and trusting your process. Now, I help athletes develop their mechanics, mental game, and self-belief so they can perform consistently and reach the next level.

What students say...

"When I first started working with Bryan at Legacy Pitching Lab, I didn’t feel like I was making real progress on the mound. My velocity was stuck, I wasn’t hitting my spots, and I lacked confidence in games. Now, my arm feels stronger, my mechanics are way cleaner, and I actually feel like I belong on the mound. Bryan pushes me hard, but he also teaches me how to take care of my body and think like a competitor. Every session I leave feeling better than the day before. I know I’m giving myself the best chance to play at the next level.

I’m a left-handed batter and right-handed thrower who specializes as an outfielder, with extensive experience in hitting, fielding, and overall player development. Playing Background • Covina High School – Four-year player competing at the varsity level • Citrus College – Earned my Associate’s Degree while continuing to play and develop my game • New Mexico Highlands University (NCAA DII) – Finished my collegiate baseball career competing against top talent in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference • Empire Professional Baseball League – Recently completed my first season, finishing with an impressive .380 batting average • Current Semi-Pro Player – Continuing to train and compete, with the goal of advancing to full professional baseball Experience & Coaching • 24 years of baseball experience across high school, collegiate, and professional development levels • Outfield specialist with strong emphasis on reads, routes, throwing mechanics, and defensive awareness • Hitting coach with proven results, focusing on timing, plate discipline, power generation, and consistency (as demonstrated by my .380 BA at the pro level) • Experienced mentoring players of all ages, from youth beginners to advanced athletes preparing for higher-level play Teaching Philosophy My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals while tailoring drills to each athlete’s skill level and goals. I believe in breaking the game down in a way that’s simple, repeatable, and effective—helping players not only perform better, but also understand the game at a higher level. My goal is for every student to leave a session more confident, more skilled, and more motivated than when they arrived. Why Work With Me As a semi-pro player who just completed a season in the Empire League with a .380 batting average, I bring both real-time player insight and years of coaching experience. I know firsthand the dedication it takes to succeed at every stage of baseball, and I’m here to help players sharpen their skills, build confidence, and fall in love with the game.

What students say...

"“My daughter Lexi was only 7 when she worked with him at a clinic at Highlands, and it was such a positive experience. At that age it can be tough to keep kids focused, but he had the perfect mix of patience, energy, and fun that kept her engaged the whole time. He broke things down in a way she could actually understand, and by the end of the day she was more confident in her swing and couldn’t stop talking about how much fun she had. As a parent, it was awesome to see someone with his playing experience give back to the younger kids and inspire them. Lexi left that clinic saying, ‘Mom, I wanna play like him one day.’ That says it all.”
