After working at my local golf course growing up, I went through the PGA Golf Management program at New Mexico State University. From there I started working as teaching professional at Golf Made simple teaching 3 day classes to 4 golfers at a time. I’m Then promoted to Lead instructor trainer teaching the new instructors how to properly teach and coach classes. Now I teach full time at several different venues.

•About me (golf) My name is Noel Sims. I am a professional golfer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I am 28-years old and have been playing the game since I could walk. I have been competing in golf tournaments from ages 3-current and have played in some elite events as a junior golfer, amateur golfer and professional golfer. While finishing my junior career, I was ranked the #1 African-American in the nation and top 240 in the world on the JGS rankings. I played 1-year at South Mountain Community College where I was apart of a NJCAA National Championship team in 2016 and finished my collegiate career at Alabama State from years 2017-2021 (redshirt year at SMCC and a Covid-19 year at ASU). I was a consistent starting at both programs and have a lot experience of playing different styles of golf. I turned professional in 2021 and have made 2/2 cuts at the 2021 Outlaw Tour Wigwam Red Classic and the 2023 Arizona Open (haven’t played much professional due to finishing my Master’s Degree while also working after my collegiate career). • About me (education) I have an extensive passion for helping others reach their true potential. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My passion for others goes farther than just helping others in a room, but also outdoors! I find enjoyment in seeing others progress and passing my knowledge to others when it comes to golf and also recommendations with life.

I have been playing golf all my life, beginning with the First Tee program, which taught me that golf is more than a sport—it's a way to carry yourself, conduct business, and much more. The program instilled values such as courtesy, respect, integrity, sportsmanship, honesty, and confidence, which I live by and which have helped me throughout my golfing journey. I have competed at many levels, including SCPGA, AJGA, mini tours like the Pepsi Tour, and college golf, experiencing the game in various settings. Golf has taken me all over, and I love helping others discover and enjoy the sport.

For a little over 30 years I’ve been a PGA instructor and successfully helped golfers from beginners to touring professionals hone their golfing skills. I will make you better at this great game no matter your skill level. My experience of playing at all levels including the PGA Tour coupled with my teaching background enable me to connect with all levels of golfers. I teach at Papago golf course which is also the home Arizona State University golf teams. Papago Opened in September of 1963 and Hosted the 1971 USGA Public Links Championship with my father Arch as the first Head Professional. Watching him teach as I was growing up gave me the fundamentals for teaching philosophy that has carried with me throughout my entire career. I specialize in Private one-on-one lessons covering the entire spectrum of the game, but also will do group lessons and clinics for the short game only. As a lifelong golf devotee, Brian McMahon is considered to be a most effective Golf Psychology coach with multiple game-improvement solutions, in addition to being a full swing and short game coach. Brian is a true lover of the game and has a tremendous appreciation for those who play it, competitively or just recreationally.
