I’m a professional golfer currently competing at a high level, with a +5 handicap and a collegiate background from UCSB. I’ve spent the past five years teaching golfers of all skill levels, helping them build confidence, consistency, and a deeper understanding of the game. •About me (golf) My name is Noel Sims. I am a professional golfer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I am 27-years old and have been playing the game since I could walk. I have been competing in golf tournaments from ages 3-current and have played in some elite events as a junior golfer, amateur golfer and professional golfer. While finishing my junior career, I was ranked the #1 African-American in the nation and top 240 in the world on the JGS rankings. I played 1-year at South Mountain Community College where I was apart of a NJCAA National Championship team in 2016 and finished my collegiate career at Alabama State from years 2017-2021 (redshirt year at SMCC and a Covid-19 year at ASU). I was a consistent starting at both programs and have a lot experience of playing different styles of golf. I turned professional in 2021 and have made 2/2 cuts at the 2021 Outlaw Tour Wigwam Red Classic and the 2023 Arizona Open (haven’t played much professional due to finishing my Master’s Degree while also working after my collegiate career). • About me (education) I have an extensive passion for helping others reach their true potential. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My passion for others goes farther than just helping others in a room, but also outdoors! I find enjoyment in seeing others progress and passing my knowledge to others when it comes to golf and also recommendations with life.

After working at my local golf course growing up, I went through the PGA Golf Management program at New Mexico State University. From there I started working as teaching professional at Golf Made simple teaching 3 day classes to 4 golfers at a time. I’m Then promoted to Lead instructor trainer teaching the new instructors how to properly teach and coach classes. Now I teach full time at several different venues.

My golf career began with humble roots, starting on the grounds crew, but my passion for the game and relentless pursuit of excellence propelled me into diverse roles within the golf industry. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working closely with some of the brightest minds in golf, like tour instructors Joe Mayo, Nick Clearwater, and Andy Plummer. This experience allowed me to absorb knowledge and techniques that have elevated my teaching to an elite level. Chris, a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, turned professional in 1985 and embarked on an international playing career across Southeast Asia and South America while pursuing his dream of competing on the PGA Tour. By 1987, Chris joined the PGA of America as an apprentice and later achieved membership in the Hogan Tour and Nike Tour, now known as the Web.com Tour. In 1992, Chris attained Class A status in the PGA of America and began a dedicated teaching career. He joined the John Jacobs’ Golf Schools in 1997, quickly advancing to Head Instructor at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City West. Since 2001, Chris has been teaching golfers of all ages and skill levels at Anthem, focusing on personalized instruction to enhance enjoyment and the pursuit of improvement in the game. Chris recently took on the role of Boy’s Golf Coach at Boulder Creek High School, where he is excited to mentor and inspire the next generation of up-and-coming golfers.

Mark Sutherland is the Head Golf Professional at Quintero Golf Club. He has years of experience with individual, group, and junior instruction. Mark grew up in Michigan and has over 35 years of total experience in the golf industry including 7 years as a Head Golf Coach at high schools in Arizona and Colorado. He obtained PGA membership in 1998 and achieved special distinction in instruction and golf operations through the PGA Certified program in 2009. Mark enjoys coaching hockey, skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with his family while away from the club. Ron Gring played professionally on the American mini-tours, Asian Tour and South American Golf Tour from 1978-1985 before serving as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Lakewood Golf Club from 1985-1990. He attempted to qualify for the PGA Tour 11 times and missed by only one shot in 1981. The Director of Terravita Golf Instruction & Fitness has had many accomplishments during his career both in tournament competition and in golf performance improvement. He won the Gulf Coast Chapter, Dixie Section PGA Championship in 1989, won the Dixie Section Player of the Year Award in 1991 and was named the Gulf Coast Chapter Player of the Year in both 1990 and 1991. He also took home the Gulf Coast Chapter Teacher of the Year in 1991 and the Dixie Section PGA Teacher of the Year in 1991, 1996 and 2003. Ron has been named to Golf Magazine’s list of the Top 100 Teachers every year since 2003 and has been honored with Golf Digest’s Best in State in Alabama and in Arizona.
