Patrick has been an instructor at Turkey Creek for five years and has recently transitioned to be an instructor for The Golf Spot as of September 2021. He provides professional instruction using video analysis, on-course instructions, and mental game awareness. In 2017, Patrick became an accredited member of the PGA of America. Besides his teaching career, Patrick has 20 years of competitive golf experience. He has played on the national junior level and college golf and is a mini-tour player. After winning and competing on many circuits, he decided to change his career to teaching as there was a flaw in golf teaching. Many students would learn the golf swing, but they still didn’t understand how to own their golf swing and play the game of golf, not just make great golf swings. Jared Butts is a Golf Digest Best Young Teacher in America and Best Teacher in California (2026–27), known for his passion for developing players both on and off the course. As a coach at Will Robins Golf for 13+ years, Jared brings energy, passion, and a deep understanding of player development to every lesson—helping juniors and adults alike build confidence, skill, and love for the game. Brian discovered his passion for golf at age 4, inspired by his father’s career in the sport. Growing up at Rancho Murieta Country Club, Brian excelled in junior tournaments, earning a golf scholarship to Sacramento State University, where he became a standout player and team MVP. After graduating with a degree in Art Studio, Brian pursued a career in golf, eventually becoming a Head Coach for Will Robins Golf, sharing his expertise and love for the game with players of all levels.

Cliff has been passionately teaching golfers since participating in the PGA Apprentice program. With a fun and challenging approach, Cliff tailors his instruction to players of all levels. As Head Varsity Golf Coach at Elk Grove High School for the past 10 years, he has elevated the team to new heights of respectability. A Level 2 First Tee coach, Cliff has a special passion for junior golfers, focusing on attitude, etiquette, rules, swing concepts, and course management. A lifelong student of the game, Cliff is eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm, helping golfers achieve their goals on and off the course.

I have been a PGA Professional since 1993 and have dedicated over 25 years to teaching in the Sacramento and Auburn areas. A proud graduate of San Jose State University, I bring a wealth of playing experience to my instruction, including being a 6-time NCPGA Player of the Year and competing in prestigious events such as the 1996 US Open, three PGA Championships, and the victorious 2000 PGA Cup Team in Wales, where I represented the United States. Throughout my career, I have shared my Basic and Balance approach to golf with thousands of students, including juniors who have gone on to earn college scholarships. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of playing the game and achieving consistency on the course. Students learn not only the fundamentals of the golf swing but also how to apply them effectively for lower scores. I tailor my instruction to each individual’s capabilities, helping them improve while gaining a deeper understanding of their unique swing.
