Ryan was raised in a musical household and began taking lessons from the time he was able to wrap his hands around a guitar neck. He is well versed in a variety of genres and styles including Rock, Jazz, Blues and Americana. He works with students of all ages and levels of experience and tailors lessons to the individual (no one size fits all approach). Beginning students start with simple melodies and basic chord forms. Advanced players develop theory, harmony, composition, improvisation.

The Songwriters Guild of America has featured his songs at several music industry showcases in Los Angeles. Michael has worked Universal Studios Hollywood & Nike World Headquarters as a sound mixer/audio technician. He was a private music instructor at Marylhurst University in Portland, OR & three Portland Community College Campuses. Michael is a member of the NARAS. Michael also teaches: Songwriting, Music Business Contracts & Music Production & Engineering (including Pro Tools).
