Ian Su is a pianist and educator with more than 18 years of piano training and performance experience. He is currently pursuing dual Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy at New York University Steinhardt, where he studies under the distinguished pianist and competition laureate Prof. Jeffrey Swann. He previously earned his bachelor’s degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, studying piano with Prof. Robert Shannon. In addition to his academic work, Ian serves as Adjunct Faculty at NYU, teaching both private piano lessons and keyboard skills courses for undergraduate music majors. He has accumulated over 300 hours of teaching experience, guiding students from beginners to advanced performers. His teaching emphasizes flexibility, individualized methods, and the cultivation of both technical proficiency and expressive musicianship, inspiring students to develop confidence and a lifelong passion for music. As a performer, Ian has appeared in solo recitals, chamber ensembles, and collaborative concerts with vocalists, string, woodwind, and brass players. He has also studied organ and harpsichord, further expanding his versatility across keyboard instruments.
