Outside of Pickleball, Lucy is a retired nurse practitioner and a well-known member of the Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota Pickleball community. "I recommend Bacem as a coach because of his tremendous knowledge, experience and his style of explaining things and making it make sense to anyone. I struggled with popping balls, my backhand returns and landing my serve consistently. Learned from Bacem that I don’t need to crush my serve and I just need to land it, now I almost land 100% of my serves. ✅ I also implanting his feedback on how to grip and position my paddle for backhand returns, how to be ready with my paddles at all times, how to anticipate the ball and read the play. I was also advised to focus on watching the opponent how they serve so I know what to expect and how to return it without hitting out or short. Bacem is still my coach and planning to continue to improve my game.
The Pickleball Connections Academy was founded by Harris. In 2019 Harris was introduced to Pickleball by a longtime friend Bill, who grew up in Seattle WA and started playing in 1974 with his neighbors who were friends with the founders of pickleball. Since then, he has been certified to teach Pickleball by the PPR and has been teaching for several years. He also previously was a Tennis Pro for the IMG Academy.
