I'm Coach Ed, a lifelong surfer from Brazil, and I've been riding the waves since I was 7 years old! Now at 44, surfing is more than just a passion—it's a way of life. For over 20 years, I've been sharing that passion by teaching surf lessons, working with all ages and skill levels. I love helping others find their stoke on the waves. I'm also a proud family man, with a beautiful wife and a lovely young daughter who keep me grounded and inspired every day.
"Ed is an impressive! a professional who knows how to technically teach you how to improve and easily understand how to maximize your surfing potential. I highly recommend this excellent instructor.

I started surfing at eleven and turned pro in my early teens, winning USA championships in both longboard and shortboard. Now, I'm here to help you master technique, movement, and wave knowledge. Whether you're a beginner or aiming to improve, I've got the experience to boost your surfing game. Let's ride the waves together!
"That lesson with Francesca had great energy and positivity, which was pretty encouraging. I especially liked her relaxed approach and how she kept the vibe natural, though I still want to stand up on a green wave next time. Still, I feel like I’m making progress, and it’s encouraging to have someone so steady guiding the way. If you're into lessons that foster a calm but motivating environment, you might want to give Francesca a shot.

Water can be cold. Now that summers here we can get away without wetsuits but if you get cold easy I recommend renting one. I have all the boards necessary for any skill type All you need to bring is a towel, swimwear and a water bottle is recommended. I have face sunscreen designed for surfing Rash guard can be provided, but not necessary. I personally wear a regular t-shirt in the water when I’m surfing in boardshorts and want to prevent rashes.

If you have your equipment please bring it if not I can provide boards and some sizes of suits. Also when we go to the water we don’t bring much more than suits and board, so you don’t need much for your lesson with me. Also if you are looking to get good at the art of riding waves, I encourage you to start looking to buy your own suit and board, I can provide help for that.

When working with kids in surf lessons, I focus on keeping instructions simple and breaking down skills into easy-to-understand steps. I make the lessons fun by incorporating games and playful activities to keep them engaged while practicing their balance and paddling. Safety is a top priority, so I emphasize basic rules like staying close and being aware of the ocean. We start in shallow, gentle whitewash to build confidence before tackling bigger waves. Most importantly, I provide plenty of encouragement to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
