About Eshan

Passionate tennis player with a decade+ of experience. I've excelled at various levels, from high school varsity (2012 HS State team qualifier) to college club teams (Ohio State University and Ohio University tennis club alumnus). Previously, I was a full-time tennis professional and Director of Tennis and Pickleball @ Wedgewood Golf and Country Club in Columbus, OH training players of all ages. I have also been the Assistant Tennis Coach of the Girl’s Varsity Team for Westerville South High School (Westerville, OH) for the past two years. From Oct 2025 - July 2026, I was a part-time tennis professional @ Wickertree Tennis Club in Columbus, OH and coached the 3.5 Career Ladies’ USTA Team. Additionally, I have a strong background playing USTA Tournaments (22-6 all time in USTA doubles according to ITF World Tennis Number). Most recently I achieved the following: 2026 USTA League Midwest Ohio Valley Adult 18+ District Champion 2026 USTA League Midwest Ohio Adult 18+ State Runner Up I have a Bachelors degree in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology, a Masters degree in Biomedical Science, 2 years of medical school, a Certification in the Practice of Data Analytics, and I am currently studying for my next Masters in Bioinformatics at Northeastern University. If you are someone who has a STEM background, I excel at communicating tennis techniques and concepts in terms that STEM professionals can relate to and understand because I have a comprehensive knowledge of the biophysics, muscles, and fine motor feelings that one needs to be aware of when executing mechanics. Let's take your tennis game to the next level! *While I used to teach all ages previously, at this time, I am currently only taking students who have surpassed 6th grade* **Now in the Boston area**

About Mario

I’m passionate about fostering a love for tennis in players of all ages and skill levels. My decade of experience, coupled with my background as an experienced player, allows me to create engaging and effective training programs tailored to individual goals. As an ambidextrous player, I’m able to demonstrate and coach from both the forehand and backhand sides naturally, which gives students a unique visual and technical advantage when learning stroke mechanics, positioning, and shot development. In addition to tennis, I’ve played hockey and baseball throughout my life, which has given me a deep understanding of athletic movement, discipline, and cross-training techniques. I often integrate elements from those sports—like agility drills, hand-eye coordination work, and strength and conditioning regimens—that translate exceptionally well on the tennis court. Let’s work together to elevate your game!

I started playing tennis when I was 8 years old in Brazil. I got to #12 in the country U16 and #800 in the world U18. I later played at UAB (D1 college) where I was the captain of the tennis team. During the summers I would teach large groups from all ages and private lessons as well. I love to be able to teach someone the proper technique to maximize their potential and I care a lot about my students. I have experience in clay and hard courts and I would say my style of play is lots of spin, consistency, energy, and focus on the serve. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have.

What tennis coaches in Cambridge, Massachusetts can help you work on

Private tennis lessons in Cambridge are built around your goals. Whatever you want to improve, a coach can focus each session on it. Here are the areas coaches in Cambridge work on most.

Groundstrokes and consistency

Build dependable forehands and backhands with depth and spin. Cambridge coaches groove your strokes and footwork so they hold up in long rallies.

Serve and return

Add power, placement, and a reliable second serve, then neutralize big serves on the return. A coach in Cambridge rebuilds the most important shots in the game.

Net play and volleys

Get comfortable finishing at the net with clean volleys, overheads, and approach shots. Tennis coaches in Cambridge sharpen your hands and positioning up front.

Footwork and movement

Move better, recover faster, and set up every shot with the right steps. Cambridge tennis coaches drill court coverage, balance, and recovery.

Match strategy and tactics

Win more matches by building points, reading opponents, and playing the percentages. Coaches in Cambridge coach the tactical side of tennis, not just technique.

Tennis lessons for kids in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Looking for tennis coaching for kids in Cambridge? We match kids and teens — from first-timers to high-school and club players — with coaches who specialize in junior development. Private kids tennis lessons run at the same weekly rate as adult lessons.

Tennis lessons for kids and teens

Vetted, background-checked tennis coaches

Every coach who works with kids goes through identity and background screening before being matched with young students, and their safety vetting is shown on their profile — so you can book with confidence.

Every age and level, ages 5 to 18

Coaches in Cambridge teach juniors from as young as 5 through high-school and competitive athletes, tailoring each session to your child's age, level, and goals — whether that is first-time fundamentals, building confidence, or tryout and team prep.

Parents welcome at every tennis lesson

Parents are welcome to stay and watch — many do, especially with younger kids — but it is never required. Either way, your coach shares progress and what to practice between lessons.
