I’m a tennis player and coach currently attending the University of California, Irvine (UCI). I was a 2-year captain of my high school tennis team, earned All-League honors twice, and helped lead my team to two league championships. I’ve worked as a hitting partner at Yonkers Tennis. I’ve also given independent tennis lessons to kids and adults of all ages, and I really enjoy working with kids and helping them build confidence and improve their game. I am teaching tennis to help pay for college.

As a former college player with 25 years of coaching experience, I'm dedicated to fostering a love for the game in players of all ages and skill levels. My coaching philosophy centers around building a strong foundation, developing tactical awareness, and most importantly, cultivating a genuine enjoyment for this dynamic sport. My experience began playing tennis at the age of six at Alexandria Sporting Club in Egypt, and I competed at a high national level throughout my junior years. Achieved top national rankings in Egypt, including No. 13 at age 12, No. 4 at age 14, and No. 6 at age 16, and consistently ranked within the top 10 from ages 12 to 18. Competed in ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments and gained international match experience. Currently based in the United States, continuing advanced training while pursuing academic studies. Has 4+ years of coaching experience in both Egypt and the U.S., working with players of all levels and ages, from young beginners to advanced juniors and ITF-level players as a hitting partner and development coach. Known for strong technical fundamentals, high work ethic, clear communication, and the ability to adapt coaching methods to different player needs and skill levels.

Now, with 30 years of experience under my belt, I've transitioned into teaching tennis, sharing my expertise and love for the game with aspiring players of all ages.

Hello, my name is Armaan Walia and I have been playing competitive tennis for 12+ years. I coach with the top tennis pros at country clubs which has helped me develop my coaching skills. I play collegiate tennis at St. Lawrence University and play two singles there ending my season with a 8-3 record. During my lessons I focus on developing the player and building habits that will last for a lifetime.

Passionate about helping underserved kids throughout Seattle learn tennis and have organized and connected with many initiatives to do so. My goal is to help you achieve your goals whether that be improving technique or beginning to learn to play. To that extent, I am fairly flexible in my approach. For beginners, I focus on technique, proper grips, and generating topspin. To do this, I focus on hand feeding a lot of balls early on to develop proper technique and to train the muscle memory. Specifically, I teach a semi-western forehand, two-handed backhand, volley fundamentals, split stepping, proper footwork and serve mechanics. I also work with students who have one-handed backhands. I am a big believer in putting in a lot of time on the serve. For more experienced players, I will work with you to either identify areas for improvement or to work on areas you’ve identified you would like to improve.
