Achieved top national rankings in Egypt, including No. 13 at age 12, No. 4 at age 14, and No. 6 at age 16, and consistently ranked within the top 10 from ages 12 to 18. Competed in ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments and gained international match experience. Currently based in the United States, continuing advanced training while pursuing academic studies. Has 4+ years of coaching experience in both Egypt and the U.S., working with players of all levels and ages, from young beginners to advanced juniors and ITF-level players as a hitting partner and development coach. Hello, my name is Armaan Walia and I have been playing competitive tennis for 12+ years. I coach with the top tennis pros at country clubs which has helped me develop my coaching skills. I play collegiate tennis at St. Lawrence University and play two singles there ending my season with a 8-3 record. During my lessons I focus on developing the player and building habits that will last for a lifetime.

Passionate about helping underserved kids throughout Seattle learn tennis and have organized and connected with many initiatives to do so. My goal is to help you achieve your goals whether that be improving technique or beginning to learn to play. To that extent, I am fairly flexible in my approach. For beginners, I focus on technique, proper grips, and generating topspin. To do this, I focus on hand feeding a lot of balls early on to develop proper technique and to train the muscle memory. Specifically, I teach a semi-western forehand, two-handed backhand, volley fundamentals, split stepping, proper footwork and serve mechanics. I also work with students who have one-handed backhands. I am a big believer in putting in a lot of time on the serve. For more experienced players, I will work with you to either identify areas for improvement or to work on areas you’ve identified you would like to improve.
