I've had the pleasure of coaching tennis to students of all ages and abilities, fostering their love for the game and helping them reach their full potential. My background as an associate professor and high school teacher has equipped me with exceptional teaching and communication skills, allowing me to build positive relationships with my students. Fueled by two decades on the court, I offer strategic tennis instruction honed from my collegiate playing days. My focus is on cultivating technique and fostering a deep love for the game. I am excited to share my expertise with aspiring players of all levels.

Nick will be the new Head Pro at Oakton Swim and Racquet Club and is a USPTA Elite Professional and PTR Level 2 Professional with nearly 20 years teaching experience as a head tennis professional, director of tennis, and varsity tennis coach. Currently, he is Flint Hill’s Assistant Varsity Coach for both boys and girls. He serves on several organizational committees for the USPTA including as the State President of Ohio and the Midwest ELEVATE committee. Nick has received several awards including Lessons.com Top 10 instructor 2020 (Northern Virginia), PTR’s Member of the Year (2013), and was named the Washington Post’s High School Coach of the Year in 2010. He specializes with developing junior tennis players using a progression based format. He believes in developing relationships first. By building positive, trusting relationships, he believes that anyone can learn the game of tennis.

My playing style is unorthodox, but it works. I prioritize strength training, speed training, and explosiveness in order to be able to optimize my playing style on the court. Over the past ten years, my tennis journey has been a testament to perseverance and dedication. Starting in high school, I climbed from bottom of JV to become Varsity Captain, mastering both singles and doubles play. This passion eventually led me to Club Tennis at Penn State University, and pursue my passion of playing / teaching tennis.
