Beginner training plan
Your first lessonNormally in the first lesson I want to focus on grip and balance because without those its impossible to build a good swing.
Lesson 11+From here we look at special shots like chipping bunker shots and putting
Lesson 4-10At this point i want to bring in targeting and learning to make sure you are aimed at the target and can hit that target
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2&3 is swing basics and ball position. We then move on to basic shots and start to build a reliable repeatable swing
Youth players
Working with kidsWorking with kids is different but rewarding nonetheless. I want to give them the basics but always stay positive. Its so easy these days for kids to get down on themselves when they stumble or fail. I often use the sandwich approach by complementing them on something they did right then look at something to fix and then come right back and talk about another positive thing they did.
What you need to bringI highly recommend bringing your own clubs as well as a bottle of water. In the fall you might want a pull over that keeps you warm but allows you to swing freely.
What I can bringI have a used set of clubs that beginners can use to start with but depending on the students height they may be too tall or too stiff. I strongly encourage students to bring their own clubs because your swing can change drastically if you are using the wrong equipment
