About your swimming coach

Throughout my 10+ year aquatic career I’ve worked for several companies to become a versatile and skilled swim instructor. With a rich background as a competitive swimmer and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor training, I intimately know the technical progressions of all strokes (competitive and survival,) starting dives and turns. I am skilled at creating and implementing structured and engaging lesson plans by incorporating learning tools and games to create fun and effective learning sessions that appropriately suit all age groups, abilities, and goals. I find swimming instruction to be one of the most personally enriching activities I can do because I’m teaching lifesaving skills to all who I encounter.

The lesson with Adriane was quite helpful. She really tailored the pace to my experience level and kept things engaging but still a bit challenging. Still, I think with a little more focus on technique, it could become even more effective. If you're considering trying her lessons, I’d say go ahead and give it a shot.

In just a few lessons I have made remarkable progress with my side breathing and swimming technique. I was able to compete in my first triathlon because of Adriane's skilled and professional training.

I had my first swim class, and I loved it! The instructor has a lot of experience teaching people how to swim, and I really enjoyed the class. I definitely recommend for people all ages who want to learn how to swim or improve their swimming skills!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonCongratulations on taking the first step in improving your swimming skills! Swimming is more than exercise or recreation; it’s an essential lifesaving skill. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete training for your first triathlon or a brave individual overcoming a lifelong fear of water, we’ll use our first lesson to assess your baseline skills in the water and establish a plan of action to help you reach your aquatic goals. I will first assess your ability to safely maneuver in the water - this will involve gentle breathing, floating, and movement exercises. From there we’ll launch into your customized lesson plan!
Lesson 2-3For those who are brand new to the water world, our focus will be on building water safety skills. These include being able to safely breathe in an aquatic environment, floating with minimal assistance, and moving to safety without touching the pool floor. For intermediate to advanced swimmers, we’ll focus on improving your swimming technique. This will involve refining your kick, body position, arm placement, and side breathing with a variety of athletic drills designed to help you focus on specific aspects of your swimming technique.

What you need to bringStudents should come prepared with their own bathing suits and towels. Goggles, caps, and nose/ear plugs are optional.

What I can bringKickboards, pull bouys, pool noodles will all be available at the pool.
