His control over the instruction was quite steady, and I appreciated how he managed to keep things focused. Though there's still room for us to improve control, I’m hopeful that with more practice we'll see progress. Still, Jim's approach was quite down-to-earth and realistically paced, worth trying if you're looking for someone who understands the game well.

I’ve been passionate about tennis for over 20 years, thanks to my father who introduced me to the game at a young age. I earned my coaching certification from The Professional Tennis Registry in 2021 and have since coached for Nike Tennis Camps, Smoke Rise Country Club, and offered private lessons. As a former Division II college player, I also volunteered at an afterschool program, where I had the chance to teach kids tennis alongside a local coach. This experience, along with four years of coaching at Reading & Requests, taught me the value of listening to students and using positive reinforcement to foster rapid improvement. In my lessons, I focus on mastering the six basic strokes, keeping score, proper hand placement, and understanding the rules of the game.
