As a former USPTA teaching professional, I bring proven coaching performance to the fast changing world of pickleball. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to add a 3rd shot DRIP or backhand flick to your arsenal, I’ll guide your improvement every step of the way. I specialize in meeting each player exactly where they are, and improve or build solid fundamentals through unique stroke mechanic check points. The session pace is always comfortable, encouraging, and challenging. As a senior player, I understand the unique considerations that come with starting or improving later in life, though I genuinely enjoy working with players of every age and skill level. When you book with me, you can count on plenty of balls, paddles (if needed), and a reserved space where we can focus entirely on your improvement without distractions. During the cold months (November through March) I teach at Missouri Pickleball Club in Fenton, or Missouri Pickleball Club—Ellisville. I enjoy group lessons, so book with one, two, or three friends and lower the price per student cost. I will teach at other locations if a court can be reserved and the student handles making the reservation.

I'm an ambassador for Six Zero Pickleball and currently a 4.5 DUPR rated player. My tennis, ping pong, and badminton backgrounds have helped me transition into pickleball rather easily. (I guess it's a "racquet sports" thing) I primarily play at Plummer Family Park in Edwardsville, IL and the Rally Club indoor facility in Glen Carbon, IL where I'm a member. I also play in a handful of tournaments each year where I've been fortunate enough to typically medal in those tournaments. I enjoy helping people at all levels understand the basic fundamentals of pickleball, explaining strategies and tactics, as well as discussing the pros and cons of different types of equipment you should be using (paddles, shoes, sunglasses, etc).

"I was fortunate enough to meet Jeff at the Webster Tennis Center where he was doing some organized beginner classes. I had been struggling with progressing as an intermediate player and asked Jeff for some individual instruction. I was able to work with Jeff individually for a few sessions and saw immediate improvement in my play in the transition zone. Jeff was patient, kind, and made several excellent suggestions, that have helped me to develop more consistency in my play. Jeff also helped me to re-grip my paddle and discuss ways to weight the paddle to gain better control and to diminish stress on my elbow. After a few initial sessions, I was able to set up group lessons for several of my playing partners and the feedback has been glowingly positive. He’s one of the absolute most remarkable human beings I’ve ever known and I feel incredibly lucky to have been his student. I am an adult learner who had taken extended time off from any singing while focusing on my career and raising a family. Fitz was a kind, but firm teacher with huge expectations as well as the skills and leadership necessary to help me reach his high expectations. In a lot of ways, it felt like I was starting all over and he was so patient at meeting me where I was and helping me to grow. He’s a master at technique, vocal health, strengthened my breath support, is a amazing with how to teach a variety of different languages for singing, and best of all-has a real art behind having his students connect emotionally to our music. Fitz has created a community among the artists that train under him.
