Besides his teaching career, Patrick has 20 years of competitive golf experience. He has played on the national junior level and college golf and is a mini-tour player. After winning and competing on many circuits, he decided to change his career to teaching as there was a flaw in golf teaching. Many students would learn the golf swing, but they still didn’t understand how to own their golf swing and play the game of golf, not just make great golf swings. As of January 2022, he has been nominated as one of the best instructors in the nation by Golf Digest under 40 years of age and strives to be the best teacher he can be daily.

I have been a PGA Professional since 1993 and have dedicated over 25 years to teaching in the Sacramento and Auburn areas. A proud graduate of San Jose State University, I bring a wealth of playing experience to my instruction, including being a 6-time NCPGA Player of the Year and competing in prestigious events such as the 1996 US Open, three PGA Championships, and the victorious 2000 PGA Cup Team in Wales, where I represented the United States. Throughout my career, I have shared my Basic and Balance approach to golf with thousands of students, including juniors who have gone on to earn college scholarships. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of playing the game and achieving consistency on the course. Students learn not only the fundamentals of the golf swing but also how to apply them effectively for lower scores. I tailor my instruction to each individual’s capabilities, helping them improve while gaining a deeper understanding of their unique swing.
