Hi my name is Horacio Hernandez! I’m a guitarist and educator with a bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance and Music Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This educational background has not only provided me with formal teaching qualifications but also a deep appreciation for the transformative power of music in education. My training spans classical, jazz, rock, and more. I’ve worked with students of all levels—from complete beginners to advanced players preparing for auditions or performances. Whether you’re learning your first chords, exploring improvisation, or diving into theory and composition, I’ll create a custom lesson plan that keeps you inspired, challenged, and making real progress. Ever since I can remember, music has been the beginning and the end in my life to find peace like no other, endless layers of self discovery to our human nature as well as an the genuine, meaningful connections to the most incredible people and experiences I’ve been lucky enough to live through. Those connections can be found in all kinds of ways, different stages in our journey which compose the song of our day to day. I’ve found that through sharing and teaching all aspects of it, you get back ten-fold of what you ever give and also find gems along the way which you never thought were out there.
