Hi, Iβm Rian Weston-Dodds, Iβve been playing for over 5 years now coaching for about 2. Iβve had a career high DUPR rating of over 5.0 and have coached at various locations including Picklemall, Life Time, the Picklr, and now soon Dink and Dine. I'm PPR certified, with 70 matches logged in DUPR from leagues and tournaments. I specialize in helping beginners players get a handle on the game, and also the intermediate players with strategy and technical aspects. I look forward to working with you on the court! At the moment, the Mountainside Fitness on Frank Lloyd Wright is the easiest way to get a an indoor court during the summer, free for members and only $10 for non members. It is on a basketball court but it works fine for practice. Otherwise, The Orchard Indoor Pickleball Private Event Venue by Talking Stick resort is also a good option for a rentable, authentic indoor court. But it does cost $30 for an hour. If you have your own private court let me know, otherwise many public courts get busy in the early mornings and afternoons but often times Ashler Hills usually has an open court.
"Rian is a fantastic coach who offers clear and practical advice during our pickleball lessons. I enjoyed how he adjusts strategies on the spot to help improve the game. His guidance really helped me play better and feel more confident on the court. If you want to develop your skills in a supportive way, Rianβs lessons are definitely worth trying.

As a former college athlete and a seasoned pickleball coach, I bring a unique blend of experience and passion to the sport. Currently holding a 4.0 rating, I embarked on my pickleball journey in the vibrant courts of Arizona. Now, I'm in the process of obtaining my PPR certification to further my proficiency. In addition to my coaching skills, I am also a dedicated physical therapist, focusing on boosting athletic performance. This unique background allows me to effectively coach pickleball enthusiasts of all levels. With my comprehensive understanding of sport dynamics and physical fitness, I am dedicated to helping each player reach their maximum potential!
"Had a great time both lessons helped my game especially my serve. Very thoughtful gentleman. Thanks

Let them dictate the pace of the lesson, what they want while I analyze more to than provide feedback

First I will ask you about your strengths and weaknesses and if thereβs something in particular that you want to work on. Normally I start almost every lesson with a few points of skinny singles to identify any strengths and weaknesses and what we should work on. From there I will give you a few tips and then run some drills to work on them. Throughout the lesson I will continue to give you tips as I identify ideas to help with your game, and we may adjust the drills but still mainly focusing on one particular skill.

I make more engaging games and quick topics of valuable pickleball information to connect meaning to play and fun with respect

If Iβm giving a lesson with kids, I focus on having fun, and helping them get a feel for swinging the paddle and hitting the ball. We would focus on interactive games and drills that would help activate their eye hand coordination if they havenβt had experience with racket sports yet.
