Hi there, I'm Tom, and I'm currently one of the head coaches at Picklr Fountain Valley. I'm a dedicated IPTPA certified Pickleball instructor with a strong foundation in the sport, backed by over 3 years of playing experience. Recently played in PPA Las Vegas and finished with silver in 4.5 Mens Singles. Having triumphed in Round Robin events at Tustin Pickleball, I bring over two decades of tennis expertise, infusing a unique perspective into pickleball coaching. Finished with the gold at recent CAPA event at Los Cab Club. Passionate about nurturing skills in a fun and enjoyable manner, I'm committed to helping players of all levels excel on the court. My name is Roberto. I was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica, and I came to the United States nine years ago to play college tennis. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University (nation's top 10 NCAA Division II school) with a B.A. in Business Management and served as the team's captain on my last semester. I have also coached beginner and intermediate tennis players of all ages in Costa Rica as well as several collegiate dual matches. Regarding my playing history, I have played tournaments in over 10 countries, obtained a junior international ranking, and reached a ranking of #8 in Costa Rica. As of this year, I started coaching pickleball and the experience has been no different! Concepts are very similar and time to raise level is actually shorter!
