Introduction to the Game
Weāll kick things off with a laid-back intro to the game. Iāll walk you through how golf works, what to expect on the course, and the basic rules and etiquette youāll need to feel comfortable out there.
⢠Weāll take a look at the course layout ā tee box, fairway, rough, greens, and all the spots youāll be playing from.
⢠Iāll show you the different clubs, what theyāre used for, and how to choose the right one for each shot.
⢠Then weāll dive into the fundamentals: grip, stance, posture, and alignment. Youāll learn how to set up properly and swing with balance and rhythm.
⢠Weāll start hitting short irons and wedges, focusing on making solid contact and building good habits right away.
⢠Weāll finish with some basic chipping and putting just to introduce you to how the short game feels.
This first lesson is all about laying the groundwork so you feel confident moving forward. (2-3hrs recommended)
On-Course Evaluation and Next Steps
Once weāve covered the essentials, itās time to take it to the course and see how it all holds up in a real round.
⢠Weāll play together (or Iāll observe) while you go through 9 holes ā giving you a chance to apply everything weāve worked on.
⢠Iāll pay attention to how you manage the course, make decisions, and handle tough spots.
⢠From there, weāll pinpoint whatās working well and where you could still use a bit of fine-tuning.
Everyoneās golf journey is different, so after this point, it really becomes about you ā your goals, your pace, and how much time you want to commit to improving. Whether itās getting consistent off the tee, breaking 100, or just enjoying the game more, weāll build a plan around what you need.
Refining the Full Swing + On-Course Preparation
This is where things really start coming together. Youāve got the basics down, now itās time to clean up the full swing and get ready for actual on-course play.
⢠Weāll work on refining your swing mechanics ā focusing on balance, tempo, and better ball striking.
⢠Iāll help you fix common issues like slices, topping, or inconsistent contact.
⢠Weāll start hitting longer clubs, including hybrids, fairway woods, and driver ā working on control and power.
⢠Youāll learn how to hit from uneven lies, make smart decisions under pressure, and develop a routine you can trust.
⢠Iāll walk you through how to manage your way around the course ā club selection, risk vs. reward, and how to stay in control mentally.
⢠As we wrap up this section, weāll simulate a round or play a short course to put everything into action.
By this point, youāll be ready to play a 9-hole round with confidence and a game plan.
Intro to Short Game and Putting
Now that youāre starting to get the swing down, weāll shift focus to the short game ā the part of golf where you can save strokes and build confidence fast.
⢠Weāll go over the basics of chipping and pitching ā how to set up, which clubs to use, and how to control distance and trajectory around the green.
⢠Youāll get a solid foundation in putting: grip, stance, and the pendulum-style stroke that helps with control and consistency.
⢠Iāll walk you through how to read greens ā how slope, grain, and speed all work together to influence break.
⢠Weāll practice both short putts and lag putts, and Iāll give you some simple drills you can use anytime you practice.
These two sessions are huge for helping you develop touch and feel ā two things that make a massive difference in your scores.
