Hello, my name is Austin Steel. I am a 3.0-3.5 rated pickleball player and pickleball event organizer. I have been playing pickleball for a little over a year and a half now and I have years of experience with tutoring, so I can ensure that each student understands the way of the game and gets their own personalized lesson for effective learning. I thoroughly enjoy playing pickleball whether it be with my friends, strangers, or in tournaments and I want to spread the thrill of playing pickleball with everyone.

I’d say this lesson stood out because of the clear focus on volley control and how it’s helped me stay consistent during rallies. Though I still need to work on my serves, I appreciate the subtle pointers Austin shared. Still, I think practicing a bit more could really make a difference for me. If you’re aiming to fine-tune your paddle placement and stay relaxed at the net, it’s worth trying out Austin’s approach.

I was just starting to get into pickleball but hit a road block after a few weeks of playing so I looked for coaching. Austin made understanding the fundamentals very easy and enjoyable. His patience and encouragement helped me build confidence in my playing. He breaks things down in a way that makes sense and always provide great feedback. I’ve seen a big improvement in my game within a couple of lessons and look forward to continuing taking these lessons. I recommend taking lessons with him, you wont regret it.
Beginner training plan
Your first lessonGet to know your athletic level through evaluation and then go over the basic rules of the game with drills involving the learning of the rules.
Lesson 11+Dive deeper into the basics while spending more time on quality of play and having one on one games to explain real game scenarios. Polishing game movement and thoughts while playing with someone and against someone.
Lesson 4-10The tips and tricks that go into playing and thinking like a pickleball player to have a basic understanding of gameplay against others while playing mock one on one games. Including warm up knowledge and analysis before games.
Lesson 2-3Work on proper playing techniques such as forehand and backhand, serving power and placement, enhance court positioning and awareness when playing against others.
Youth players
Working with kidsI have worked many jobs involving kids and I am used dealing with them through kindness and understanding. I am sure that they will see improvement in their game.
Working with teenagersAs a young adult, I feel as if i could connect with teenagers and can make the experience of learning or improving skills a fun and unique time.
