With a lifelong background in racket sports, including tennis, table tennis, and a passion for pickleball, I combine my experience as a competitive 5.0-level pickleball medalist with three Division 1 tennis championships and a Southern California CIF semifinal appearance. I currently teach at Mulholland Hills Country Club and Mika's Tennis Academy and have previously worked as a Special Education instructor, Registered Behavior Therapist, Adaptive Skills Clinician, Mobility Trainer, and Physical Therapist Aide. I hold a Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Biomechanics. My students have earned medals from the 2.5–4.5 levels and qualified for USA Pickleball Nationals. My name is Roberto. I was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica, and I came to the United States nine years ago to play college tennis. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University (nation's top 10 NCAA Division II school) with a B.A. in Business Management and served as the team's captain on my last semester. I have also coached beginner and intermediate tennis players of all ages in Costa Rica as well as several collegiate dual matches. Regarding my playing history, I have played tournaments in over 10 countries, obtained a junior international ranking, and reached a ranking of #8 in Costa Rica.
