Dedicated voice instructor with over 10 years of experience teaching students from ages 2 to 76. My teaching spans a variety of styles, but I particularly enjoy focusing on Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Opera. I hold a Master's degree in Classical Voice and Opera from The Manhattan School of Music, which has provided me with a strong foundation in vocal technique and performance. Outside of teaching, I am a Singer-Songwriter who regularly performs around the city. I understand the joys and challenges of performing, and I strive to make my students feel confident and excited about their own performances. My teaching approach is rooted in technique first, ensuring that students develop a solid foundation. However, I also emphasize the importance of having fun and enjoying the process, as I believe this naturally leads to increased confidence. I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages and abilities, from newcomers to experienced performers. My students have been accepted into prestigious musical programs at institutions such as Harvard University, Berklee College of Music, Hunter College, The Royal College of Music, and The Manhattan School of Music. They have also secured lead roles in musicals, shows, and Disney auditions. Whether you're just starting your singing journey or looking to refine your skills, I believe we can unlock your talent and confidence together. I would love to hear more about your goals and answer any questions you might have about the process. Even if it seems daunting, that's completely normal, and I'm here to guide you through it! Please reach out to schedule a consultation. I look forward to hearing from you and embarking on this musical journey together!
"I'm not a musician and I have almost no experiences with singing lessons, but working with Sid has been very productive and eye-opening. We'd do a variety of exercises and work on songs. I definitely feel more confident with my voice and my range after working with Sid. Sid is a solid musician with attention to details and I feel l've learned a lot about music from him beyond just singing.

Elevating my vocal journey, I've secured a place in the All-District and All-State Chorus for five consecutive years, a testament to my commitment to musical excellence. Currently honing my craft under the guidance of Broadway professionals at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, I'm dedicated to reaching new heights in the world of vocal artistry. Join me on this melodic adventure, and let's explore the boundless possibilities of your voice!

I generally spend the first lesson assessing and discussing the students experience and comfort with singing, finding their vocal range, and discussing goals.

Singing doesn't require much in the way of equipment, but if you'd like to work on music with a karaoke track I encourage you to be prepared with one (YouTube is a GREAT resource!) Alternatively, please have two copies of sheet music with you if we're working off the page. Garments that restrict mobility or breathing are not recommended.

I love the energy of young children. My style is to make it fun for them and to secretly give them a foundation to be fine musicians at the same timeβ¦
