About Marli

Embarking on a musical journey in my youth, I've cultivated 15 years of expertise in singing, guitar playing, and experimenting with various instruments like the mandolin, keys/synths, bass guitar, harp, and ukulele. Under the moniker 'Marliii,' I've crafted and recorded original music in NYC studios, with my songs available on major streaming platforms. I've graced the stage at prominent events like Bamboozle Music Festival, Long Island Famous Food Festival, and Dreamforce After Dark, where I opened for Grammy Award-winner Portugal. The Man. My passion extends beyond performing, earning recognition from NAMM and HARMAN JBL through Samsung’s #NewFaceinTech program. As a relentless advocate for music education and representation, I channel my knowledge as a music coach specializing in guitar, piano, and voice. Join me on this melodic journey of learning and innovation!

What students say...

"My daughter Addison began taking with Marli about a year ago now when she had just turned 6 years old. I was initially hesitant about signing Addison up for lessons due to her age and her tendency to be shy, especially in new situations. Marli was incredible with Addison from the very first introductory lesson. Not only is Marli a gifted musician, she was able to adapt to the needs of a 6 year old (no easy task for anyone.) Over the past year I have observed Addison grow both musically and personally.

About Bjorn

With a musical journey spanning three decades, I've traversed the globe recording and touring with platinum-selling artists. Alongside this remarkable career, I've devoted 33 years to teaching the art of music (both Guitar and Bass). From private lessons to guiding aspiring musicians at esteemed institutions like MI and LA College of Music, and leading master classes across the world, I have honed a versatile teaching approach. My expertise covers a broad spectrum of styles and caters to all ages and skill levels. Together, let's make music an unforgettable part of your life's soundtrack.

What students say...

"Bjorn tailors your lessons to your needs: whether it's learning a new song, going through scales, music theory, etc. Whatever it is, ultimately he ties each lesson on how to make you a better musician overall. Personally, words aren't enough to describe Bjorn's love for teaching and his commitment as a teacher, but for someone who had never played bass before going to Bjorn and for someone looking to reignite my interest in music that I had as a kid, I got so much more out of my lessons with Bjorn than I expected. I've learned so much about music theory from Bjorn that I'm able to analyze songs from a theory standpoint, why songs work the way they do, and actually understand naming as well as how to build chords. Prior to this, I've done some guitar as a kid, but only ever looked up tabs which never really helped me grow as a musician. I've never really understood why chords were named the way they were and etc., I'd just memorize the fingerings. It was personally, for me, cause of Bjorn that I understand theory now and don't really look at songs the way I do anymore (in terms of just learning tabs). Bjorn has also helped me train my ear as a musician because I had only done tabs before (which never really helped me with my ear). Even more unexpectedly, we had even worked on reading exercises as well. Applying all this with songs that I wanted to go through with my lessons with Bjorn has helped me become much better as a musician from when I first started lessons. Additionally, working on improv exercises theory wise in a variety of genres has really opened up my eyes in terms of music. It's from these improv exercises that Bjorn has personally given me the confidence to venture out into song writing with coming up with my own riffs. More specifically about the bass side of the lessons, the exercises that Bjorn himself has used since he started playing bass (from slapping to drilling in the fundamentals of fingerings) has gotten me so much more comfortable with playing bass with where I am now compared to the first lesson I had. With Bjorn's knowledge and experience, he provides a welcoming environment to any student of any level. I honestly can't stress enough how far I've come since my first lesson, but I also just can't stress enough Bjorn's commitment to not just making you a better bass player, but a better musician overall. Glenntunes production company: Original music, film scores and kids music Education: BA music, composition, university of California Santa Barbara AA degree, El Camino College, Torrance, California

What students say...

"I've been taking guitar lessons with Glenn for 2–3 years now, and I recommend him to every friend or colleague who wants to learn guitar (or bass or ukulele) or improve their playing. Glenn has a library of songs tabbed out; once he gets a general sense of where you are in your progress with the guitar, he can suggest dozens of songs in each of several genres--rock, jazz, blues, pop, etc.--that are appropriate for your level. He works with you until you are comfortable playing that song and it's time to move on to a new song, slowly increasing in difficulty as your skill develops. This approach has helped me to slowly, but steadily, develop my skills while playing songs I enjoy. If you want to stick with a pick, stick with finger style, or develop both skills, Glenn can help you improve. If you want to read tabs or read standard notation, Glenn can work with you on either. He mixes in some theory along the way, but not so much that it gets in the way of the fun of playing the guitar. I'm a middle-aged guy, but if you are looking for a guitar teacher for your child, my impression is that he is a great teacher for children and teenagers as well. He is friendly and patient, important traits in a guitar teacher!
