Great lesson with Megan. Personable, easy to understand, broke everything down into simple steps, and answered my questions. Assessed my Beginner level quickly and knew how to accent anything I already knew how to do and move on. I had a ton of questions, which she happily answered. Good at assessing my fitness level and watching me- set water breaks (so important) and did check in’s because my breathing was a bit labored. I’m not in great shape yet, and Megan was really good about watching me and asking if I needed a breather. Easy to schedule. It was a FULL hour. I say this because I have taken private lessons in other sports and many give 50 minutes and less concentrated. I’m so excited that I found Megan!

First lesson was great! I did write a review. I assume that shows on the App somewhere. Let me know if it does and if it shows up. I would certainly want that to be available for others to read. I'm thrilled to have decided to go this route, private lessons, in beginning Pickleball and also staying with my first choice, Megan. If you recall we had a bit of a snafu in scheduling-nothing big. She ended up being a perfect match for me.
Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson can include; dinking, volleying, serving, returning and a few basic rules. Depending on the client, everyone has different needs, so what we spend more time on will depend on how quickly someone can grasp and execute the concepts taught. Everyone has different goals so I think it’s important to discuss beforehand.
Lesson 11+Continuing to practice all the shots required to play this game well! It’s a walk not a sprint to the finish line and to get good takes time and effort.
Lesson 4-10Lessons four through ten we try to piece everything together continuing to look for consistency throughout all of the shots as well as starting to implement the rules of the game in a controlled setting.
Some people will grasp things slower or faster than others so perhaps these lessons will be used to introduce even more concepts such as drop shots, drives, cross court dinking, etc.
Lesson 2-3Second and third lessons will include getting more comfortable and consistent with all shots that were introduced in lesson one!
What you need to bringStudents need to bring good court sneakers and water with them!
What I can bringI am able to bring paddles, balls, and ball tubes.
