About your tennis coach

I am a former NCAA Division I player who has taught a plethora of kids, teens and adults to play this great game more competitively. I've always been passionate about tennis, and my journey has taken me to some incredible places. I played Division I tennis in college, competing in both singles and doubles, and even reached the finals of the 1984 Olympic Trials. Those experiences taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and the thrill of competition. Today, I still love the game and am always looking for ways to improve my skills and share my passion with others.

β€œCoach Brad is absolutely wonderful with our girls 8 and 10. They are learning quickly and have never been more excited about the sport. We could not be happier, and we look forward to their continued progress. Thank you, Coach Brad!” -Mollye Bergen

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI first assess the player’s knowledge and ability and then talk about how to approach the game and start to develop basic skills slowly until my student gets it.
Lesson 11+Here is where we dive into the overhead and serve which are vitally important in both doubles & singles
Lesson 4-10Here we will come up to the net and explore how to properly volley which is how many points are won
Lesson 2-3Here we will start to develop a good foundation on the ground strokes

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWe will work on footwork, serve & volley play and return of serve, which are all crucial in singles play.
Lesson 11+If interested in playing tournaments, we will talk about how to effectively win our first round match and move on in the tournament
Lesson 4-10Here we will work on strategy points, perfecting a consistent first serve and being on the offense so we can win more points
Lesson 2-3Here we will perfect your Volley skills so that you can take over the net and end singles points quickly

Youth players
Working with kidsI am teaching kids from age 4 through age 16, currently and each of them are improving their skills with each twice a week lesson.

Working with teenagersWorking with teenagers gives me the chance to take them to the next level and often reach their goal of making the varsity team during high school or even prepping them for local tournaments and then potential college play. All five students I have taught in the past have all made their varsity tennis teams.

What you need to bringTennis racquet, sunscreen and a water bottle

What I can bringI have a full basket of tennis balms ready to practice, but please do bring your own racquet
